Maternity Sessions: What to Expect & How to Prepare
There is something incredibly special about documenting this season of life. Maternity sessions are all about capturing the beauty, anticipation, and quiet moments before your baby arrives. My goal is to create a relaxed, elevated experience where you feel confident and taken care of from start to finish.
When to Schedule Your Maternity Session
The best time for maternity photos is typically between 28–34 weeks. During this time, your belly is beautifully round, but you’re usually still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session.
What to Wear
I offer a carefully curated client closet filled with timeless, flattering gowns designed specifically for maternity sessions. These dresses photograph beautifully and take the stress out of figuring out what to wear.
If you plan to wear pieces from the client closet, I recommend wearing nude, seamless underwear. This helps ensure the dresses fit smoothly and look as polished as possible in your photos.
You’re also welcome to bring your own outfits if you’d like a more personalized look—we can mix and match styles to fit your vision.
Hair & Makeup
Professional hair and makeup can make a huge difference in how you feel during your session—and that confidence always shows in your images.
I offer a hair and makeup upgrade for $120, available on Saturdays only. This add-on is perfect if you want a more polished, luxury experience without the stress of getting ready on your own.
What to Expect During Your Session
Your session will be calm, guided, and never rushed. I’ll gently pose you in ways that feel natural and flattering, while also leaving room for candid moments. Whether you’re coming alone, with your partner, or including siblings, I’ll help create images that feel genuine and connected.
Why Maternity Photos Matter
It’s easy to put off maternity photos or feel unsure about being in front of the camera—but this season is fleeting. These images become part of your story, something you (and your child) will look back on for years to come.
If you’re ready to document this beautiful chapter, I’d love to help you create something timeless.
